"When creating a portrait of an individual I am interested in creating an image that conveys the energy and mood of my experience of that person. As well as creating a map of their face at a particular point in time in a particular light and from a particular view point; the expression the subject wears is a reflection to how they feel about the environment they are in and how they feel about being photographed by me. It's about what I bring, it's about what they bring and it's about the environment we are shooting in."
"A good shoot is where the subject can express and show me what they have to give, what they carry around everyday, their self image. A great shoot is where the previous happens and in addition I get to add what I sense about them, my image of them."
